Childbirth has always been dangerous even though the risks have decreased dramatically with medical advancements. Just like the body, our emotional and mental experiences are also casualties of life threatening experiences. We need to take time after acute circumstances to ground our experience and let the waves of fear dissipate. Digesting our experience allows us to heal and reclaim our lost sense of power.
